Why there is no single number
Two businesses can both say they want Odoo and need very different amounts of work. One is replacing a spreadsheet and basic accounting with sales, inventory and invoicing. The other is moving years of data from several systems, integrating with field service and document management, and changing how teams work. A fair price depends on which of those you are, so be wary of any figure quoted before the scope is understood.
What drives the cost
The main drivers are the number of processes that go live together, the modules involved, the quality and volume of the data you need to migrate, the integrations with systems you already use, how much is configured versus customised, and how much training and change support your teams need. Customisation tends to be the item that grows quietly, because every workaround you ask the system to reproduce adds build, testing and ongoing maintenance.
Licences are separate from implementation
Software licensing and implementation services are different costs. Odoo has a free Community edition and a paid Enterprise edition licensed per user, and hosting is a further decision. Check Odoo's current pricing directly, and ask any partner to separate licence, hosting, implementation and support so you can compare like with like.
How to get a quote you can compare
Ask for a written scope that names the processes, modules, integrations and data migration included, and, just as importantly, what is excluded. Prefer a phased proposal with a defined first release over an open-ended estimate. A discovery stage that produces a prioritised scope and a decision log is often the cheapest way to find out what the real cost will be.
Keeping it under control
Start with the core flow, such as sales to invoice or inventory, go live, and measure before adding modules. Treat data cleansing as part of the project plan, assign an internal owner for decisions, and challenge every customisation request with the question of whether a process change would do the job.
